| Descrizione del dritto | The obverse features a central medallion divided by radiating lines into seven segments, each containing the coat of arms or emblematic device of one of the seven Ionian Islands. At the centre of the composition, a circular cartouche displays the dates 1864 and 2004 separated by a stylised wave motif symbolising the sea. Above the central cartouche, a standing male figure — likely representing King George I or a classical allegorical personage — is depicted in low relief. The name of each island is inscribed in Greek along the outer edge of its respective segment: ΙΘΑΚΗ, ΠΑΞΟΙ, ΚΥΘΗΡΑ, ΛΕΥΚΑΣ, ΚΕΦΑΛΛΗΝΙΑ, ΚΕΡΚΥΡΑ, and ΖΑΚΥΝΘΟΣ. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | The reverse displays a frontal view of the Hellenic Parliament building (the former Royal Palace) in Athens, rendered in fine linear relief. Above the building, the legend ΒΟΥΛΗ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by a small floral ornament at the apex. The year 2004 appears in the upper field beneath the ornament. In the lower field, the large numeral 140 is prominently displayed with the word ΧΡΟΝΙΑ below it. The commemorative legend ΑΠΟ ΤΗΝ ΕΝΩΣΗ ΤΩΝ ΕΠΤΑΝΗΣΩΝ ΜΕ ΤΗΝ ΕΛΛΑΔΑ curves along the lower periphery of the coin. |
