| Beschrijving keerzijde | Stylized horse moving to the left, executed in the highly abstracted Celtic artistic idiom characteristic of Parisii coinage. The charioteer figure, conventionally depicted above the horse on earlier Gaulish staters, has been entirely replaced by a distinctive reticulated ornamental element identified as a snaffle or bridle motif, rendered as an interlaced or netted design. The horse's anatomy is reduced to schematic linear forms, with minimal but expressive detailing. The composition is typical of Class VI Parisii quarter-staters as catalogued in Delestrée-Tache. |
