Obverse description Highly abstracted, stylised head of Apollo facing right in the Celtic artistic tradition, derived from Hellenistic prototype. The wreath is rendered as a series of decorative elements with the face largely suppressed into the surrounding design. A prominent central spike or crescent form is embellished with three pellet-in-ring motifs, characteristic of Atrebatic coinage of this period. The overall composition fills the irregular flan with typical Late Iron Age abstract artistry.
