The hair radiates outward from the face in sinuous, wing-like locks that curl and intertwine across the field, evoking both serpentine Gorgoneion imagery and Celtic artistic conventions. The face is boldly modelled with strong relief, displaying the blend of Mediterranean iconographic influence and insular craftsmanship typical of late pre-Roman British coinage. The design fills the flan to its edges, with the facial features centred and the surrounding hair forming a dynamic, decorative border. |
