Obverse description A trishula (trident) depicted centrally in the upper field, with the three prongs clearly rendered above a horizontal bar. Below the trident, a Brahmi legend occupies the lower portion of the flan, identifying the issuing ruler Yajnabala. The design is struck on a small, irregularly shaped copper flan typical of Panchala coinage of this period, with the devices rendered in a bold, abbreviated style characteristic of ancient Indian punch-marked and cast coinage.
