| Beschrijving voorzijde | The central field displays the quartered royal arms of Castile and León within a circular beaded border, featuring alternating castles and rampant lions in the four quarters, with a small escutcheon at the centre. The shield is surmounted by the royal crown. The surrounding legend, separated from the central device by a rope-like inner border and an outer dentilated rim, reads FERNANDO•VII•REY DE•ESPA ÑA•Y•DE•LAS•YNDIAS•, identifying the monarch as Fernando VII, King of Spain and the Indies. The engraving is rendered in a bold, provincial style characteristic of Mexican proclamation pieces of the early nineteenth century. |
