| Obverse description | Bare-headed portrait of Ariarathes II facing left, wearing the characteristic Persian bashlyk headgear, rendered in a compact, archaic Hellenistic style typical of early Cappadocian royal coinage. The effigy displays a bearded profile with defined facial features, the pointed tip of the bashlyk rising prominently above the crown of the head. The flan is irregular and slightly rough, consistent with early hammered bronze production of the period. No legend appears on the obverse field. |

| Reverse description | Standing figure of Athena facing left in a martial pose, her right hand extended forward grasping a long spear and her left arm supporting a round shield. The goddess is depicted in a flowing chiton with Hellenistic stylistic influence, consistent with iconographic traditions inherited from Macedonian royal coinage. The royal Greek legend is disposed in two lines within the field. The reverse fabric is moderately worn, with the legend partially legible on well-preserved specimens. |
