Obverse description Beardless head of Herakles facing right, clad in the lionskin headdress with the scalp tied beneath the chin, rendered in archaic-influenced Sicilian style. The facial features are modelled in low relief consistent with hammered bronze coinage of the period. The legend ΘEΡMITAN arcs around the field, identifying the issuing city of Thermai Himerensis.
