Anaphe — modern Anáfi in the southern Cyclades — was among the smallest and most isolated of the Aegean island polities to produce its own civic coinage. The island's mint output was extremely limited, and surviving bronzes attributable to it are rarely encountered outside Scandinavian and a handful of northern European collections, the Copenhagen hoard assemblage being the primary reference point for the series.
