Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing right, wearing a crested Corinthian helmet with a prominent raised crest; the facial features, rendered in a bold provincial style, are visible in three-quarter profile. The cheek guards of the helmet frame the goddess's face, and traces of drapery are discernible at the neck. The flan is irregular and the relief is moderately worn, consistent with the hammered bronze coinage of the western Pontic region.
