| Description de l’avers | Bee rendered in high relief, depicted facing, occupying the central field within a rectangular incuse border. The insect is shown with naturalistic anatomical detail, with clearly articulated wings spread laterally to either side of the segmented body, and the rounded head and thorax rendered in bold relief. The style is characteristic of early Archaic Ionian coinage, with the bee serving as the principal civic emblem of Ephesos. No legend or inscription is present. |

| Description du revers | Two adjacent square incuse punches set side by side in the field, each deeply impressed and exhibiting a rough, irregular interior surface with geometric sub-divisions produced by the hammer blow of the mint worker. The punches are separated by a narrow raised ridge and together span the width of the flan. This type of multiple-punch reverse is characteristic of the earliest electrum coinage of Ionia, serving as a guarantee of weight and metal content rather than as a pictorial device. |
