The Bank of Sverdlovsk never existed. Sverdlovsk — the Soviet-era name for Yekaterinburg — had no independent issuing bank, and the Russian Federation's monetary system has never recognized regional banking authorities with note or coin issuance rights. This piece belongs to a well-documented category of Russian "fantasy" tokens produced from the mid-2000s onward, typically struck by private mints and marketed as collectibles under fictitious regional banking names.
