Myrina, an Aeolian city on the western coast of Asia Minor, struck bronze issues across a long period during which it cycled through Pergamene dominance, Seleucid interference, and eventual Roman provincial absorption. The SNG Copenhagen 226 attribution places this among a well-documented but modestly studied civic series. Myrina is perhaps better known to numismatists for its terracotta figurines than its coinage — the city's archaeological profile has overshadowed serious die study of its bronzes.
