| Obverse description | The obverse features a detailed architectural rendering of Saint Sophia Cathedral of Kyiv, a masterpiece of 11th-century Kievan Rus ecclesiastical architecture, centrally positioned within the field and encircled by a beaded border. Below the cathedral depiction, the inscription denotes the founding period of the cathedral (XI СТ.), the face value, and the year of issue.
