| Reverse description | Deeply incuse square punch dominating the reverse, characteristic of the earliest Greek hammered coinage produced by an uncertain Ionian mint. The incuse depression is roughly quadrilateral with irregular raised ridges and a granular, textured interior surface resulting from the use of a spiked or knobbed punch tool. No secondary type or inscription is present within the incuse, the field displaying only the raw impressions of the punch consistent with archaic electrum fractional coinage of the 6th century BC. The pronounced depth of the incuse relative to the small flan size is typical of the myshemihekte denomination. |
