Lesbos in this period hosted several poleis — Mytilene and Methymna chief among them — each issuing electrum and silver fractions independently, which is precisely why attribution remains contested. The 1/24 stater denomination served interisland trade at the smallest transactional level, and the uncertainty of issuing authority here is not carelessness on the cataloger's part but reflects a genuinely unresolved question in Greek numismatics.
