| Obverse description | Within an inner beaded circle on a square klippe flan, the crowned quartered coat of arms of Groningen occupies the central field, surmounted by a crested helm with elaborate mantling. The denomination '12 1/2' appears to the left of the shield. Encircling the inner beaded border is the Latin legend reading 'IVRE · ET · TEMPORE · 1672', with the date flanking the upper portion of the design. The overall execution is characteristic of hastily produced siege coinage, with the design elements struck within a roughly square, irregular planchet with rounded corners. |

| Reverse description | The reverse is entirely plain and uniface, presenting a smooth, unadorned silver surface with no devices, legends, or decorative elements. The flat field shows the characteristic marks of a klippe siege issue, with natural flow lines and patination consistent with the hammered production method employed during the 1672 siege of Groningen. |
