| 背面描述 | A left-facing crowned Wallachian eagle displayed as the central device, holding a sword in its right talon and a scepter in its left, with a cross in its beak — the traditional heraldic arms of Wallachia. The denomination 12 1/2 LEI appears within the legend, accompanied by the motto PRIN STATORNICIE LA ISBINDA arching around the design. The overall composition reflects the heraldic style characteristic of Romanian royal coinage of the early twentieth century. |

This piece belongs to a cluster of pattern coinage struck in 1906 to mark the 40th anniversary of Carol I's reign, an occasion the Romanian state used to explore denominations and compositions that never entered production. The 12½ lei face value is itself a curiosity — fractional denomination structures of this kind were under active discussion as Romania weighed monetary reforms, but the denomination was ultimately abandoned before any circulation issue was authorized.
Patterns from this jubilee series were struck in multiple metals from the same dies, making composition the primary variable between KM catalogue siblings.
