A rectangular incuse countermark, applied by Azorean authorities in 1887, appears on the left side of the bust, depicting a crowned 'G.P.' monogram — the stamp engraved by Frederico Augusto de Campos — validating the host coin for circulation in the Azores at a tariffed value of 1200 Réis. The coin's border features a fine dentilated rim. |
