| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of Ferdinand II facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed curly hair falling to the nape of the neck. The truncation of the neck is cleanly cut. The circumferential legend reads FERDINANDVS II DEI GRATIA REX in Latin capitals, interrupted at the base by the date, here 1838. The field is smooth and lustrous, framed by an inner toothed border and an outer milled rim. |
