Obverse description Draped and armored bust of King Carlos III facing right, wearing a long curled wig, the truncation signed by the engraver's initials. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the Baroque style, with fine detail on the cuirass and lace cravat visible at the shoulder. The circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait, interrupted by the bust at the lower rim. The engraver's mark 'D.G.' appears at the base of the truncation.
