Reverse description Two adjoining incuse punches of unequal size dominate the reverse, produced by the hammered punch technique standard to early Lydian coinage. The larger square punch occupies the left portion of the flan and the smaller square punch the right, both deeply recessed into the surface with rough, irregular interiors characteristic of the period. The punches show no intentional decorative detail, serving a purely functional role in the striking process. The flat raised areas surrounding the incuse squares retain the natural texture of the hammered silver flan.
