Obverse description Confronted foreparts of a lion and a bull facing one another in the field: the lion's protome occupying the left side with open jaws and a prominent globular eye, and the bull's protome to the right rendered with characteristically striated neck and flanks. The two animals are depicted in high relief on the irregular flan, their bodies meeting at the centre of the design in the archaic Lydian artistic tradition. No legend or inscription appears; the imagery alone serves as the royal and denominational identifier.
