| Obverse description | Central field displays the ornate arms of the Countship of Mark within an elaborately decorated baroque shield, featuring the characteristic checkered (chequy) heraldic pattern. The shield is surmounted by a crown and embellished with scrollwork mantling. The letter 'A' appears prominently below the shield in the lower field. The entire design is rendered in the hammered style typical of late sixteenth-century Westphalian municipal coinage. |
