| Obverse description | Crowned oval escutcheon bearing a six-fold coat of arms with a central shield of Plettenberg, the whole surmounted by a princely crown. The titular legend of Friedrich Christian von Plettenberg, Prince-Bishop of Münster, runs in the outer circle. The arms are rendered in high relief with fine engraving characteristic of late 17th-century German ecclesiastical coinage. |
