| Obverse description | City arms of Hannover depicted as a crenellated two-towered gate, each tower surmounted by a domed cupola and flanked by small ornamental rosettes in the field. A lion passant is displayed above the gate in relief. Within the arched gateway, a five-petalled flower ornament occupies the central opening. The city name HANNOVER is inscribed around the lower portion of the design in a circular arrangement, reading along the inner border. |
