Obverse description Uniface cast bronze cash coin featuring two Chinese ideograms reading '半兩' (Ban Liang, meaning 'half liang') arranged with one character to the right and one to the left of a central square hole. The characters are cast in low relief against a flat, unadorned field. The coin exhibits the characteristic Han dynasty cash coin format, with the inscription oriented so that each character flanks the square perforation horizontally. The surfaces show typical patination consistent with ancient bronze casting.
