| Obverse description | Quartered shield bearing the arms of the Abbey of Corvey, surmounted by a mitre and crosier, occupying the central field. The quarters display alternating heraldic motifs associated with the abbey and its territories. A circular Latin legend surrounds the shield: HENRICVS. D. G. ABBAS. CORBEI., identifying the issuing abbot Henry V of Aschenbrock as Abbot of Corvey by the grace of God. The coin is struck on an irregular flan typical of the Kipper und Wipper period, with a somewhat uneven rim. |
