| Obverse description | Central shield bearing a four-fold coat of arms with concave sides, superimposed upon two crossed croziers in saltire; the date, where present, is divided by the shield. A mitre surmounts the entire composition. The heraldic arrangement is characteristic of ecclesiastical Kipper-period coinage and occupies the central field within a beaded border carrying the Latin legend. |

| Reverse description | Crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed with spread wings, the heads turned outward beneath a single imperial crown; an orb on the eagle's breast bears the numeral '12' denoting the denomination. The bold, somewhat crudely rendered eagle is typical of Kipper-period emergency coinage. A beaded border encloses the surrounding Latin legend referencing Emperor Ferdinand II. |
