| Obverse description | Central four-fold quartered shield bearing the heraldic charges of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, with a lion passant in the upper dexter quarter and a leopard in the lower sinister quarter, surmounted by a crown. The legend CONVERTE ME DOMINE encircles the shield in the outer field, partially legible on this worn example. The design is executed in the typical high-relief hammered style of early seventeenth-century German coinage. |
