| 表面の説明 | Central field features the crowned arms of the Electoral Palatinate (Kurpfalz), comprising a quartered shield displaying the Palatinate lion and the Bavarian lozenges, surmounted by an electoral crown. Flanking the shield are elaborate foliate and acanthus scroll supporters. The circular legend around the periphery reads CHVR PFALZ, separated by the shield, within a milled border. |

Charles Theodore inherited the Palatinate electorate in 1742 at age nineteen and spent the early years of his reign navigating the fractious politics of the Holy Roman Empire during the War of the Austrian Succession. These 12 Kreuzer pieces fall squarely within that unsettled window, when the Rhine Palatinate's mints were producing fractional silver largely to meet local commercial demand rather than any imperial directive. The denomination itself — a Groschen-range coin with roots in the old Rhenish monetary system — was already something of an anachronism by mid-century, squeezed between larger Talers and the copper pfennige that handled everyday exchange.
Slg. Memme 2457 references the Memme collection catalogue, one of the more authoritative enumerations of Palatinate coinage, and its citation here alongside KM#332 suggests reasonably well-documented die documentation for the type.
