Obverse description Three repetitions of a five-petalled rosette or flower motif applied by individual punches across the flan, each bloom rendered in stylized relief with clearly defined petals radiating from a central boss. The devices are distributed across the irregular silver surface in a characteristic punch-mark arrangement typical of early Indian coinage. The field between and around the punched symbols is plain and slightly granular in texture. The overall composition reflects the archaic punchmarked coinage tradition of the Gangetic region.
