| Obverse description | Flat-handled spade money (bu) of the square-shouldered, square-footed type, cast in bronze with a characteristic trapezoidal neck surmounting a broad rectangular blade that terminates in two squared feet separated by an arched opening. A prominent central vertical rib runs the full length of the blade, flanked on either side by the two-character inscription 平貝 (Ping Bei) rendered in archaic Zhou-period Chinese script. The surfaces display a rich patina of malachite green consistent with prolonged burial. The overall casting is typical of the late Warring States production of the Zhao state. |

| Reverse description | Plain reverse face of the spade-shaped bronze piece, exhibiting the same characteristic flat-handled bu form with squared shoulders and squared feet separated by an arched void at the base. A single raised central vertical rib traverses the full length of the blade, a structural feature inherent to the casting process and common to Zhao-state spade coinage of this period. The surface is devoid of any inscription or decorative motif and is covered with an even layer of green patination typical of ancient Chinese bronzes recovered from burial contexts. |
