Obverse description Standing figures of St. Rupert at left, holding a salt box and crozier, and St. Virgil at right, holding a model of Salzburg Cathedral and a crozier, together supporting a large oval heraldic shield bearing the quartered arms of the Archbishopric of Salzburg and the Wolf Dietrich von Raitenau family: quarters 1 and 2 displaying the Salzburg archiepiscopal arms, quarters 3 and 6 the Meier zu Reitnau family arms, quarters 4 and 5 the arms of the Lords of Eschenz in Thurgau, and the family's original escutcheon placed on the chief. The Archbishop's galero with pendant tassels appears above the shield. The encircling Latin legend reads: WOLF TEODORIC ARCHIEP SALISB SED AP LEG.

Reverse description A massive multi-tiered fortified tower, rendered in fine relief, rises from turbulent waves in the lower field, battered by storm winds and hail issuing from cloud formations flanking the upper register. The tower's detailed masonry, arched windows, and battlements convey the emblem of steadfast faith amid adversity. Two wind-head personifications blow forcefully from either side, heightening the dramatic composition. The design is enclosed within a wreath border, with the circular Latin motto legend surrounding the entire scene, the date 1594 appearing in the upper portion of the legend.
