Obverse description A detailed architectural rendering of the newly consecrated Salzburg Metropolitan Cathedral occupies the central field, with the date divided on either side of the façade. Saint Rupert stands to the left and Saint Virgilius to the right of the cathedral, each depicted in episcopal vestments. Below the cathedral, the arms of Salzburg appear in the lower field, flanked by the divided legend. The Latin inscription begins at approximately the seven o'clock position and runs around the full circumference of the coin, recording the consecration of the church by Archbishop Paris von Lodron.
