Obverse description Armored and draped bust of Elector John George I of Saxony facing right, holding an upright sword in his right hand, the tip of which divides the date 16-30. Electoral arms of Saxony appear below the bust. The encircling legend commemorates the centennial of the presentation of the Augsburg Confession, with the date 25 June rendered within the legend. The portrait is rendered in a detailed baroque style typical of early seventeenth-century Saxon medallic art.
