Liberia has used its mint licensing arrangements to produce an extraordinary range of legal tender collectibles since the 1990s, most struck abroad and never intended for domestic circulation. This piece — gold, not silver despite the name — belongs to a category of modern numismatic products where the denomination, metal, and branding frequently contradict one another by design.
