Obverse description Central device consists of a fasces (bundled rods with an axe), a classical Roman symbol of authority, depicted upright and prominent within the field. Flanking the fasces on either side are olive or oak branches forming a partial wreath. The denomination '12 D.' appears horizontally across the central field. The circular legend reads 'LA NATION LA LOI LE ROI' along the upper arc, with '1793 5 DE LA LIB.' along the lower arc, referencing the fifth year of liberty during the French Revolutionary period. The coin's border features a fine beaded rim.
