| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Athena facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic style characteristic of late second-century Aeolian civic bronzes. The goddess wears a crested Attic helmet, the details of which — including the cheek-guards and neck-guard — are visible despite the heavy patination of the flan. The portrait occupies the majority of the field, with no surrounding legend. The die-work displays competent local engraving, with strong relief on the facial features. |
