Obverse description Half-length armored effigy of Elector John George I facing right, clad in a fur-trimmed mantle with a prominently rendered sword held diagonally across the body, the hilt visible at lower left. The face displays a short beard and moustache with closely cropped hair, rendered in finely engraved detail characteristic of early seventeenth-century Saxon coinage. The portrait is contained within a beaded inner circle, with the Latin legend running continuously around the periphery between the inner and outer rims.
