| Aanvullende informatie |
Erythrai, one of the twelve cities of the Ionian League on the western coast of Asia Minor, struck small bronze coinage during the fourth century BC as civic bronze began replacing the older reliance on fractional silver across the Greek world. The magistrate name Ottalos appearing on this issue places it within a series of locally administered emissions where individual officials took responsibility — and presumably accountability — for the output.
SNG Copenhagen 613 is among the reference points for this type, though die matches across the series remain sparsely documented.
