| 表面の説明 | Obverse of a Spanish Colonial 8 Reales of Charles IV (Carlos IIII), struck at the Mexico City Mint in 1795, subsequently cut for use in Tobago. The laureate and draped bust of King Charles IV faces right, occupying much of the field. A large crenelated center hole, created during the Tobagan cutting process, removes the central portion of the design. The circumferential legend reads CAROLUS IIII DEI GRATIA, partially interrupted by the cutout, with the date 1795 visible at the base. The outer border displays a fine milled or toothed rim. |

| 裏面の説明 | Reverse of the host Spanish Colonial 8 Reales, modified by the removal of a crenelated center plug for Tobagan colonial currency use. The remaining annular field displays the crowned Royal Arms of Spain flanked by the Pillars of Hercules, each surmounted by a crown, with waves at the base. The circumferential legend reads HISPAN ET IND REX, with the mint mark M, denomination 8R, and assayer initials FM also visible around the border. The large scalloped central void obscures the central shield detail. The outer border retains its original toothed milled rim. |
