| 表面の説明 | The obverse displays the lauréate and draped bust of King Charles IV of Spain facing right, struck on the host 8 Reales of the Lima Mint. The legend CAROLUS·IIII·DEI·GRATIA encircles the portrait along the outer rim, with the date 1795 appearing at the base of the bust. The center of the coin has been removed by a crenated (scallop-edged) punch, eliminating much of the king's facial features and upper chest while leaving the surrounding annular field largely intact. The bust is rendered in the neoclassical style typical of late eighteenth-century Spanish colonial coinage. |
