| 表面の説明 | Laureate and draped bust of King Charles IV of Spain facing right, occupying the upper portion of the field above the crenated center hole. A large circular crenated (scalloped) hole of 15 lobes has been cut through the center of the host coin, removing the lower portion of the royal effigy. The peripheral legend reads CAROLUS·IIII·DEI·GRATIA, with the date 1797 appearing in the lower exergual area below the crenation. The milled edge of the host 8 Reales coin is fully intact. |

| 裏面の説明 | The reverse of the host Mexican 8 Reales displays the Royal Arms of Spain set between two crowned Pillars of Hercules, each with a banner inscribed PLUS ULTRA, surmounted by a royal crown above the shield. The large crenated center hole of 15 lobes has been cut through the central device, removing most of the crowned shield. The peripheral legend ·HISPAN·ET IND·REX·Mo·8R·F·M· runs around the circumference, with the mint mark Mo and assayer initials FM visible in the lower left field. The reeded edge of the host coin remains intact. |
