| 背面描述 | Rooster standing to right in the field, rendered with naturalistically detailed plumage and upright tail feathers; a race-torch (lampadion) depicted vertically behind the bird. The ethnic legend ΔΑΡ (abbreviation for Dardanos) appears in Greek characters to the right, occupying the upper field. The composition is characteristic of civic bronze coinage from the Troad region. |

Dardanos was a minor Troas city-state whose autonomous bronze coinage was produced during a period of intense Persian satrap influence over the northwestern Anatolian coast. Issues this small were almost certainly fiduciary tokens for local market exchange rather than any broader regional currency. The city itself claimed foundation by Dardanos, son of Zeus, a mythological pedigree it shared with Troy — a claim that gave even this tiny municipal bronze a certain propagandistic weight in the local imagination.
