| Obverse description | Forepart of a horse prancing to right, rendered in archaic Greek style with bold, vigorous lines. The animal's musculature is summarily indicated, with the head raised and forelegs extended in a leaping pose. The ethnic abbreviation MA appears in the field flanking the horse, with M to the upper left and A to the lower right. The flan is characteristically irregular and slightly convex. |

| Reverse description | A bunch of grapes suspended centrally within a square incuse border, symbolising the renowned wine production of Maroneia in Thrace. The grape cluster is depicted with compact, rounded fruit. The partial ethnic legend ΡΩ appears in the field, with Ρ to the left of the square frame and Ω to the right, representing an abbreviated form of ΜΑΡΩΝΙΤΩΝ. The overall design is neatly contained within the squared border, a hallmark of Maroneian bronze coinage of this period. |
