| Additional information |
The asarphi was Nepal's traditional gold coin denomination, and this issue spans the early reign of Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah, who took the throne in 1955 following the death of his father Tribhuvan. Mahendra's reign was marked almost immediately by political turbulence — he suspended the constitution in 1960 and dissolved parliament, consolidating power under the crown. Whether these pieces were struck throughout the full date range or concentrated in a shorter window within it is not definitively established in the standard references.
KM#798 is catalogued without a recorded mintage figure.
