Beschrijving voorzijde Draped armored bust of Duke Georg Wilhelm of Liegnitz-Brieg facing right, with long flowing curled hair cascading over the shoulders, wearing a richly decorated breastplate and mantle. A shield bearing the ducal arms is visible at the lower left of the bust. The effigy is enclosed within a finely engraved laurel wreath border, with a plain milled outer rim. The circumscription in Latin reads the duke's full titles as Duke of Silesia, Liegnitz, Brieg, and Wohlau, interrupted by the inner wreath border.
Schrift voorzijde Latin

Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse field is entirely occupied by a multi-line Latin commemorative inscription in capital letters, without any figural design, rendered in a combination of Roman and italic letterforms of varying sizes for emphasis. The text, spanning fourteen lines across the full width of the field, records that Georg Wilhelm was the last scion of the Piast dynasty and the last Prince of the Marches of Poland, who ruled the duchy for only nine months before dying on 21 November 1675, aged barely fifteen yet declared of age, setting a fateful end to nine centuries of his royal family. The inscription concludes with a lament asking whether Silesia owes more to the birth of Georg Wilhelm by grace of the Piasts or to his death in tears. The field is bounded by a finely beaded inner border and a milled outer rim.
