Obverse description Four quadrant scenes depicting everyday working life, each representing one of the classical four elements: a hunter with a falcon in flight (Air), a fisherman casting his net (Water), a farmer laboring near a mine shaft (Earth), and a blacksmith at his forge (Fire). The composition is divided into quadrants separated by an ornamental cross or frame, rendered in a detailed late Renaissance engraving style. The obverse legend, distributed across the field, reads in German: DIE MENSCHEN IN DER WELDT TRACHTN ALSO NACH GELT, referring to mankind's universal pursuit of money. The inscription appears both horizontally and vertically within the design.
