The inscription details the duke's titles, birth date of 25 December 1601, death date of 26 March 1675, his 35-year reign, age of 73 years and three months, and his interment on 4 June 1675. The overall composition reflects the elaborate funerary commemorative coinage tradition of the German principalities in the Baroque period.
